Tzum Oak Ridge Chardonnay

white still Columbia Gorge Oak Ridge Vineyard

Grape Varieties

About · community & editorial

Chardonnay from a 0.2-hectare parcel planted in 2019 mid-slope above a walnut grove at Oak Ridge, above the White Salmon River in the foothills of Mt. Adams. Direct-pressed mostly by foot in a small vertical press, transferred by bucket to two small barrels, ~a year on lees without racking, hand-bottled. “Starkly traditional” winemaking meant to show Chardonnay without modern bells and whistles.

Vintages

Personality (Nate): “a very transparent, delicate and fluid embrace of the variety — meant to give a glimpse into what Chardonnay tastes like without all the modern bells and whistles employed elsewhere.”
